The largest Yunnan F&B chain in the world, YUN NANS has created the Steam Pot Chicken Soup with Lily Bulb, especially for the occasion. Not only that, but it has also come up with a flower-themed menu of dishes — surprise your mother with edible flowers this year! 

A signature dish of YUN NANS, the Steam Pot Chicken Soup uses only the special breed of black feet chickens. The soup is brewed using a unique technique that does not require a single drop of water. Instead, the chicken is pressure-steamed for three hours. It is delicate and robust in flavor without any hint of greasiness. For the new version, the lily bulb is added together during the steaming process. Taking around five years to grow, the flower is known to nourish the lungs and can be used to calm the spirit as well as promote restful sleep. 

The lily bulb is imported directly from Yunnan. Around 160 fresh petals float in the pot. The resulting soup is clear, imbued with the fragrance and delicate sweetness of the petals. The soup will be available from 1 to 9 May 2021, priced at S$33.90. 

Besides the Steam Pot Chicken Soup with Lily Bulb, YUN NANS also has other flower-themed dishes on their menu. Incorporating edible flowers into dishes is a common practice of Yunnan chefs, who extol the taste and medicinal properties of the ingredients. The dishes are as follows: 

Stir-Fried Egg with Jasmine Petals: Subtly sweet, the petals impart a gentle earthiness and floral fragrance to the eggs.


Traditional Baked Rose Pastry: This is a favorite Yunnan classic. The flaky pastry encases an aromatic and sweet rose petal jam. Rose petals are nutritious and said to be good for the liver and spleen. 



Deep Fried Prawn with Salted Egg and Jasmine Petals: Juicy, succulent prawns are coated with a moreish sauce made with salted egg. Acting as a foil to the savor punch of the sauce are the jasmine petals’ subtle fragrance and floral note.


Organic Rose Bud Tea: Wash the food down with this invigorating offering. The wild rosebuds offer anti-inflammatory effects and are especially beneficial for females.
