White Restaurant is proud to premiere a limited-edition rendition of their signature original white beehoon created in collaboration with Ah Ge Li Nanxing. Available from 27 April onwards, pop by any of White Restaurants’ outlets for a taste of the Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam XO White Beehoon. Along with its debut comes a series of new hae bee hiam sides (available only from 27 April – 26 July 2021) that are sure to entice, as well as a series of specialty teas made by Vivian Lai’s tea brand Teabrary, each perfect for pairing.

Created by veteran actor Li Nanxing and White Restaurant’s second-generation owner Victor Tay, the new Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam XO White Beehoon 干贝辣虾米XO白米粉 (S$10.80++) is the restaurant’s star dish elevated with dried scallops, prawn, squid and hae bee hiam for an added veil of prized muskiness. A dash of homemade XO sauce added to a mix of spices including belachan, palm sugar, lemongrass, yellow ginger leaves, and more make for a dish that will linger on the memory long after it’s gone from the palate.
Together with the beehoon, look forward also to new sides like Homemade Soy Tofu with Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam Minced Pork 干贝辣虾米肉碎自制豆腐 (S$13.80++). The restaurant’s signature homemade soy tofu now takes on new, bold flavors with the addition of Li Nanxing’s hae bee hiam to the classic recipe of minced pork, mushrooms, and nai bai.
For a side of greens, the French Beans with Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam Minced Pork 干贝辣虾米肉碎四季豆 (S$14.80++) is a crunchy add-on full with ‘wok hei’ and made even more flavourful with dried scallop hae bee hiam. Mushrooms lengthen the fragrance while minced pork pull out the further sweetness from the French beans.
Seafood lovers should not miss the Stir-fried Prawns with Dried Scallop Hae Bee Hiam 干贝辣虾米爆虾球 (S$20.80++). Juicy, succulent tiger prawns shelled for your convenience is stir-fried with dried scallop hae bee hiam and added with colorful capsicum for extra sweetness and crunch.
Wash it down with Teabrary Tea by Vivian Lai
After all the indulgence, wash the flavors down with comforting tea from Teabrary, a specialty tea by Founder Vivian Lai. Specially concocted by Lai herself, the teas are not only refreshing on the lips but cleansing on the system, promising a reinvigorating drink before, during, or after a meal. Available in three specialty flavors created especially for White Restaurant, take yours from Osmanthus Oolong, Jasmine Rose Hot Tea, and Osmanthus Black Tea (hot), each a personal favorite of Lai.
The Osmanthus Oolong ($3.00++ per cup, $7.50++ per bottle) is a handcrafted artisanal cold brew of Osmanthus flowers and premium grade oolong tea leaves plucked from the mountains of Taiwan. Light and creamy with a subtle floral note, it is refreshing and luxurious to sip on at the end of a meal.
The Jasmine Rose Hot Tea ($2.50++ per cup) is a blend of rose and jasmine flowers with premium Taiwan high mountain tea grown 1000 feet above sea levels. The result is a warm cup of natural soothing properties that will warm the stomach and soul.
The Osmanthus Black Tea ($2.50++ per cup) is a brew of premium grade Black Tea also handpicked from the mountains of Taiwan. An accompaniment of Osmanthus flowers lends it a mild floral veil that has been a long favorite with black tea drinkers.
