This #StayHome period just got a whole lot better! YUN NANS is banding together with Nam Heong Ipoh for the first time ever to present specially curated set menus. Available from 29 May 2021, these set menus will showcase unique pairings of Yunnan classics and Ipoh’s most treasured dim sum offerings. Get to enjoy the best of both worlds with each set menu!
The largest Yunnan F&B chain in the world, YUN NANS has been winning over the hearts of local gourmands with its repertoire of highland cuisine (gao yuan Liao li). The dishes are prepared with authentic Yunnan ingredients specially imported from the province. The natural terrain teems with morel mushroom, wild porcini, wild black truffle, wheat pumpkin (green pumpkin), and edible flowers such as jasmine flowers, rose, and chrysanthemum. YUN NANS Singapore imports these premium ingredients directly.
Some of its signature dishes featured in the set menus include Steam Pot Chicken Soup, Deep Fried Pork Filet with Homemade Spicy Dip, Braised Egg Beancurd with Fish Maw and Cordyceps Flowers. A must-try dish, the Steam Pot Chicken Soup 云海肴汽锅鸡 uses only a special breed of black feet chickens. The soup is brewed using a unique technique that does not require a single drop of water. The soup is clear, delicate, nourishing, and robust in flavor without any hint of greasiness.
A popular appetizer, the Deep Fried Pork Fillet with Homemade Spicy Dip 香炸小酥肉 features marinated pork that is deep-fried till golden and crunchy. Each piece of meat pairs impeccably with a green dip that is widely enjoyed in Yunnan, which has a sour-spicy note. For the Braised Egg Beancurd with Fish Maw and Cordyceps Flowers 鱼鳔虫草花焖豆腐, silky blocks of beancurd are soused in a savory braising sauce, then topped with cordyceps flowers and fish maw for extra nourishment.
A household name in Malaysia with over 60 years of experience, Nam Heong brings to the table its signature items such as Nam Heong Chicken Tart, Salted Egg Custard Bun, and Ipoh Kaya Puff. Pre-pandemic, the brand is known for drawing snaking queues in Malaysia that last many hours every day. Nam Heong Ipoh is brought into Singapore by popular local actor and comedian Mark Lee. It first opened at the Food Republic in 313@somerset circa 2019.
