Noodles aren't all the same. Instant noodles are a low-cost option in Singapore. Not only that, but the popularity of instant noodles stems from their ease of preparation as well as the flavor of a single packet or two of seasoning. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I'm sure many people have been working from home. Right now, we're featuring some of my personal favorites from around the world. These noodles are available in supermarkets as well as online retailers such as Shopee and Lazada.
Prima Taste Laksa Wholegrain Lamian (Singapore)
Having the Prima Taste Laksa Wholegrain Lamian today! The noodles are not the usual instant noodles kind but these are Wholegrain, thicker than normal, and springy. The broth was so good with the right amount of spice and rich from the spices. The broth also looks and tastes legit like Laksa with the addition of coconut milk powder. I added my own tau pok, wonton, and prawns.
Vifon Viet Rice Noodles Pho Ga Chicken Flavor (Vietnam)
I think I saw this Vifon Viet Rice Noodles Pho Ga Chicken Flavor at a thai mart. The noodles had a light flavor and were not easily broken. The serving size was also generous. Even though there was a package of chili oil, the soup had a strong chicken flavor and didn't have much of a spice kick. I topped it with tofu, prawns, a lemon slice, and spring onions.
Myojo Ippei-chan MENTAIKO Yakisoba (Japan)
Trying out the Myojo Ippei-chan MENTAIKO Yakisoba. I totally enjoyed the umami flavors of fish roe! These yakisoba noodles come with a savory yakisoba sauce, a mentaiko infused mayonnaise, and cabbage, roasted nori seaweed, and fish roe garnishing.
