REVIEW: Good hawker food in Singapore: Happy Congee 滿粥了 at Jalan Besar, Newton, Jurong, Ubi and Sembawang

I was recommended to try the porridge here at Happy Congee 滿粥了 at Jalan Besar. They are located at Bgain @ Lavender Food Court.

Happy Congee specializes in Cantonese-style thick congee and has a variety of chee cheong fun too.

The Seafood Abalone Congee, which includes fish slices, abalone, prawns, and fish maw, was my choice. This had a lot of fish maw! This porridge is thick and creamy, just like Cantonese porridge. It wasn't bad even without a lot of seasoning, but it could be tastier. There are six different types of porridge available.

I also ordered the Triple Sauce Rice Noodle Roll, which is made with smooth and silky cheong fun and drenched with peanut sauce, sweet sauce, and light soy sauce. One thing to keep in mind is that plain chee cheong fun is not available. Rice noodle roll with dough stick and mala chicken shred rice noodle roll are two of their unique cheong fun.
