NTUC FairPrice Presents Taiwan Fair, Featuring over 40 Local Produce, Snacks and Novelties Enjoy local produce that are at the peak of their freshness as well as unique, delicious snacks

Even though there is currently no VTL to Taiwan, you can still travel to the country on your tastebuds! From 24 March to 6 April 2022, NTUC FairPrice will be hosting a Taiwan Fair, which will showcase over 40 local produce, delicacies, and snacks. Fans of Taiwanese novelties can enjoy convenient access to these products, which will be available across FairPrice outlets island-wide.

 

Product	Unique Selling Point
Taiwan Custard Apple	Originating from Taitung, these apples have fewer seeds than their counterparts, smooth flesh, and a delightful sweetness. They are in season from November to March — every refreshingly juicy bite attests to their peak quality.
Taiwan Guava	Rich in vitamin C but low in calories and fat content, these guavas from Kaohsiung City make an ideal healthy snack. It is an abundant source of dietary fiber, so it keeps you full for a longer period. Enjoy their crunchy texture and sweet note.
Taiwan Pink Guava	Specially imported from Kaohsiung City, these pink guavas boast green skin and pink-hued flesh. They are rich in lycopene and vitamin C. Enjoy their crunchy and juicy bite!
Taiwan Sweet Dates (Jujube)	Succulent, crisp, and fleshy, these sweet dates are a superfood that packs vitamin C, calcium, fiber, and iron. The dates can help to strengthen the immune system, detoxify the body and improve digestion.
Taiwan Honey Murcott	In season from November to April and coming from Taichung City, these mandarins come with a thin, glossy peel and are sweet and juicy. Relish their sweetness and juiciness.
Local Produce
Emerald Milkfish Ball	The Emerald Milkfish Ball makes a great ingredient for soups or hotpots. Hailing from Kaohsiung, the bouncy balls are made with milkfish that are farmed in Taiwan.
Emerald Barramundi Filet	Farmed in a fishery in Kaohsiung, the Emerald Barramundi Filet (200g) boasts a delicate smell and a pronounced taste of freshness. Pan-sear it to golden-brown perfection and pair it with mesclun salad. It is also convenient for use in fish curry.
Taiwan 3-Colour Capsicum 台灣3色彩椒	Sweet and crunchy with a mild kick of spiciness, these capsicums are imported from Chiayi County. They can be pan-roasted, stir-fried, or used for salads or kebabs. They can also be stuffed with rice, cheese, vegetables, and even meat.
Taiwanese Carrot 台灣紅蘿蔔	Thicker and bigger than its counterparts, this carrot from Yunlin County is rich in beta-carotene and vitamin A. It is harvested from December to April. Its natural sweetness spruces up chicken soups. Julienne is to use for stir-frying with scrambled eggs.
Taiwanese Celery 台灣芹菜	A great source of vitamins A, B1, B2 and C, the celery 台灣芹菜 is imported from Yunlin County. Stir fry it with dried tofu, or even use it to make juice.
Sweet Potatoes 台灣地瓜	Looking to swap out potatoes for your dishes? These sweet potatoes from Changhua County are the perfect substitutes — they are rich in vitamins C and D and low in fat content. Make Chinese-style sweet potato soup, baked Japanese sweet potatoes, or western-inspired fries.
Enoki Mushroom 台灣金針菇	Hailing from Changhua County, the enoki mushroom 台灣金針菇 is rich in protein and vitamins B1, B2, and C. These mushrooms are great ingredients for stir-fry dishes as well as hotspots.
