REVIEW: Good hawker food in Singapore: Affordable chinese food such as Xiao Long Bao, Zha Jiang mian, shengjian bao at You Peng Noodle Dumpling House Beauty World Centre

Lunchtime at You Peng Noodle Dumpling House 友朋拉面饺子馆 which is located in the hawker centre at Beauty World Centre! Heard so much about this so we ordered so much to share. 😁 They have a variety of affordable food here such as the xiao long bao, hong you chao shou, Zha Jiang mian, shengjian bao, egg & tomato noodles, and more.

🥟 Xiao Long Bao ($8.00)

A good xiao long bao has a thin, almost translucent skin and is filled with flavorful meat in bursting soup juice, but the skin on the XLB was thicker than usual, and the fillings were nice and solid. Despite being thicker, it effectively holds the soup inside. We ordered two sets of XLB, which arrived in a stack of two bamboo baskets, each with five steaming dumplings. Served with the usual vinegar and julienned ginger sauce.

🥟🌶 Hong you Chao Shou (forgot the price)

I expected this to be spicy, but it isn't. The skin was silky smooth and very lovely. Garnished with chopped chilies and coriander. 

🍜 Zha Jiang Mian ($5.00)

With the generous serving of sauce on top, the noodles appear clumpy, but after thoroughly tossing them around, they were so delicious when coated in the sauce. They also had a nice springy texture, surprising given their appearance. It's just that the sauce could have been a little more flavorful.
