REVIEW: Good Taiwanese hawker food in Singapore: Wen Li Taiwanese Food at Golden Mile Food Centre

Even though I've never visited Taiwan, braised pork rice has always been a favorite of mine! Taiwan is a destination that many Singaporeans enjoy visiting. The amazing food, which includes everything from lu rou fan and crispy fried chicken to oyster mee sua, is one of Taiwan's biggest draws.

One of my favorite hawker centers is Golden Mile Food Centre. At Golden Mile Food Centre, I discovered Wen Li Taiwanese Food (文礼台湾美食). Wen Li Taiwanese Food's owners have a wealth of F&B experience and were inspired to open this stall after visiting Taiwan and receiving a recipe for lu rou fan. A Taiwanese hawker stall is also uncommon to see.

Address: Golden Mile Food Centre, 505 Beach Rd, #01-65, Singapore 199583

Opening Hours: 11am - 4pm, Closed on Monday

Lu Rou Fan comes laden with short-grain Taiwanese pearl rice 🍚 with braised pork collar and pork jowl instead of pork belly, pickled cucumber, egg, and a side of chili. This is quite nice but would prefer if the braised pork be stronger in flavor. Their Soft boiled egg had the perfect gooeyness too.

Their popcorn chicken 🍗 isn't particularly crispy, but it's incredibly tender. These bite-sized chicken thighs are made with chicken thighs and can be quite addictive! This was served separately.

They also have the Pig Intestine Mee Sua and Braised Chinese Cabbage.
