REVIEW: Good Hawker food in Singapore: Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon - Famous for their fish soup and san lou hor fun

Though Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon is most renowned for its XO Fish Head Bee Hoon, their San Lou Horfun is also excellent. This was right in the middle of Buona Vista and Dover MRT station.

Address: 19A Dover Cres, Singapore 131019

Opening Hours: 11.30 am–2 pm, 5 pm –11 pm

When this was served, the first thing I noticed was how fragrant the wok hei was! This dish has a light tint, as is typical of San Lou Horfun, but the silky horfun has been laced with wok hei. The crunch from a large number of bean sprouts is incredible! I appreciate how the head and tails have been removed, making it look neat and attractive. Fresh fish slices were also readily available. There isn't much sauce because the broth was reduced from a rich fish soup, which gave the horfun such a wonderful flavor.

Back at Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon🥣! I have tried their delicious san lou hor fun before, so I am trying their XO sliced fish soup with rice today. The XO already hits me in terms of fragrance when this was served.

The rich and milky soup was also the result of boiled fish bones. This had a strong XO flavor, but I didn't find it to be overpowering. Despite the fact that there were only four large chunks of fish and plenty of cabbages in this soup, it was tasty and goes well with rice.
