The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore readies for summer this July with seasonal promotions at Frieda German Restaurant and La Scala Ristorante

This July to August, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore is ready for summer, particularly at two of its crowd favorite outlets at Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski. 


Frieda German Restaurant brings a Bavarian taste of summer with Grilled Steckerlfisch while La Scala Ristorante introduces a signature summer dish with Cotoletta Alla Milanese, the delectable deep-fried, juicy, and breaded bone-in veal cutlet.


Both invite guests one and all to a tasting tour right here at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore. Promotions run from 1 July – 31 August 2022.


Steckerlfisch at Frieda German Restaurant

A classic dish of Austria and Bavaria, the Steckerlfisch is a summer staple that literally means grilled fish on a stick in Bavarian dialect. As its name suggests, it presents a whole fish, skewered on a thick, angular stick and cooked over an open charcoal fire for a smoky treat perfect to go with beer. 


Frieda Restaurant presents its iteration of the dish with a butterflied Grilled Red Snapper ($78++), charcoal barbecued to crispy perfection on the outside while retaining the fish’s tender moist flesh on the inside. It comes with spicy shrimp and sides of garlic bread, grilled green asparagus, yellow capsicum, Brussel sprouts, eggplant, green zucchini, and roasted potatoes. They are made doubly delicious with a selection of Chef Richard’s sauces of spicy sambal, garlic sour cream, and mango chutney. Add on grilled Halloumi cheese for $12++.

Cotoletta Alla Milanese at La Scala Ristorante

La Scala Ristorante brings a signature summer dish of Milan, the Cotoletta Alla Milanese, a deep-fried breaded bone-in cutlet of veal. For variety, it offers it in the classic veal or a choice of chicken, both nonetheless prepared in authentically Italian ways. 


The classic Cotoletta Di Vitello Sharing for Two ($148++) is perfect for sharing,  serving up 1kg of veal cutlet with a side of mixed salad and wedges of fresh lemon to add brightness to the cutlets. Alternatively, the Cotoletta Di Pollo ($29++) is the perfect individual portion of chicken cutlet, also served with mixed salad and fresh lemon wedges. 


Pair it with the Grand Reserva Vinya La Scala Jean Leon Cabernet Sauvignon for only $144++ per bottle with every order of food and wine. This medium-bodied wine with notes of red fruit compote against a backdrop of toast and spices will perfectly draw out the delicate flavors of both veal and chicken. It is priced at $180++ per bottle.
