Most people should be familiar with Chef Kang Wanton mee but also in the same coffeeshop at Jackson Square was Ling Maison, a kinda new western food stall that opened in December last year.
Address: Jackson Square, 11 Lorong 3 Toa Payoh 01-34 Stall No. 1, 319579
Opening Hours: Mon - Thurs 11.30am - 7.30pm
Fri - Sat 11am - 3pm
Closed on Sunday
We ordered their Teriyaki Salmon with Aglio Olio ($13.90), Salmon Hollandaise ($12.90), and Potato Salad ($4.00) to share. They also serve up the usual like Chicken Chop, Pork Chop, Chicken Cutlet, Fish & Chips, etc.
Although the price is not exactly pocket-friendly for their salmon, this was a huge slab of salmon. It's not those thinly sliced salmon that I get from other western food stalls.
The Teriyaki Salmon was also super tender and flakey. For people who like salmon skin, the skin was grilled til crispy. There was a good portion of Aglio olio that could be less oily and spicier. The salmon was finished off with a sweet-savory glazed Teriyaki Sauce.
The Salmon Hollandaise is served with luscious and rich hollandaise sauce. They pair so well together and really elevate plain grilled salmon to the next level. Add some mixed grain rice in there and you have yourself one wholesome meal!
The potato salad is so sinful! For $4, you get a small bowl filled to the brim with big chunks of potato thoroughly tossed in a mayo sauce and chives. The potato salad was made in-house.
