REVIEW: Good Italian Restaurant in Singapore: Bar Cicheti @ Jiak Chuan Road

Checking out Bar Cicheti at Jiak Chuan Road for their handmade pasta! I like the warm mahogany tones throughout the whole bar which looks rather retro with a 1960s Venice vibe. Easy to know that they serve wine here with wine bottles lining the walls.

Address: 10 Jiak Chuan Rd, Singapore 089264

Opening Hours: 12 pm - 2.30 pm, 6 pm - 10.30 pm

I had this in march so I am not sure if this is still available. It seems like the menu changes up a bit with the season. I had the Tagliolini 🍝 , which had a tomato base that was sweet and packed with umami from the prawn bisque, which the pasta always manages to absorb. This also includes Argentinean red prawns, which I wish were served whole rather than in small pieces. Everything had such great flavor!

I also tried the Cacio e Pepe at Bar Cicheti This was the half portion! Just nice for a small eater like me. The pasta 🍝 was πŸ’― al dente and well-coated in the sauce. 🀭 The essence of a cacio e pepe falls on cheese and pepper. They use Sarawak black pepper and Parmigiano cheese πŸ§€ here. Despite how much I enjoy cacio e pepe, the dish lacked harmony since the cheese's mild flavor was overpowered by the black pepper's intensity.
