REVIEW: Good Instagrammable hotpot in Tokyo, Japan: Kumachan Onsenくまちゃん温泉

Kumachan Onsenくまちゃん温泉 is an Instagram-worthy hot pot place in Shibuya. They have a second location in Shibuya and are originally from Sapporo, Hokkaido. They serve Hotpot with collagen jelly. It is a type of Japanese hotpot dish called "collagen nabe," which is made by adding collagen-rich ingredients. The broth comes in seven different flavors: katsuo (skipjack tuna), soy milk, chicken, Sichuan-style spicy dan dan, miso, and Korean gochujang, plus a seasonal one.

Address: 〒150-0002 東京都渋谷区渋谷1丁目8−10 1階

Opening Hours: 11am - 8pm

All of the meals are served with collagen jelly in the shape of a teddy bear🧸, which, when boiled with hot water, transforms into a wonderful broth. Does it look like the bear is having an onsen by soaking in the hotpot? ♨️ This dish promotes healthy skin and improves joint health due to the collagen content.

In addition, they provide other ingredients such as vegetables and mushrooms to enhance the flavor. I can also choose a protein. Pick your choice of meat – beef (¥3,500), pork (¥2,780), lamb (¥2,780), chicken (¥2,600) beef tongue (¥3,500), or a little bit of everything for ¥2,980. I chose beef.

They have monthly flavors and their January one is MENTAIKO! Mentaiko is a popular ingredient in Japanese cuisine, and it can be added to a hotpot to give it a delicious and unique flavor. The broth is thick and gelatinous because of the collagen jelly and adding mentaiko makes this bursting with umami. So satisfying and delicious!!
