REVIEW: Good Tom Yum Goong in Bangkok, Thailand: Pee Aor Tom Yum Goong Noodles

Tom Yum Goong is a classic Thai soup that is known for its spicy, sour, and savory flavors. I have seen various bloggers covering Pee Aor Tom Yum Goong Noodles which is within walking distance from Phaya Thai Station. They are famous for their Tom Yum Goong and are well known amongst tourists.

I came during non-peak hours during night time and there was no queue. Lucky us!

Address: 68 51 Phetchaburi Rd, Thung Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400, Thailand

Opening Hours: 10am - 9pm, Closed on Monday

I ordered the version with prawn, pork, and egg. Their more popular variation should be their BEST SELLER Lobster and the gang featuring a giant lobster amongst much fresh seafood. I have not tried many tom yum goong before though I feel this looks quite authentic.

One of the key ingredients in Tom Yum Goong is chili paste, which gives the soup its signature heat and spiciness. Not sure if the heat can be adjusted for this though some people prefer their Tom Yum Goong to be very spicy, while I prefer it to be milder. This was a bit too spicy for me!

Despite being too spicy, I finished my bowl of noodles! I feel that this was a very well-balanced dish of spicy and sour flavors that are infused with a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices, such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, and chili paste. The broth is then added with fresh river prawns, pork, and egg to create a hot and sour soup that is both flavorful and filling.

Overall, Tom Yum Goong is a must-try dish for anyone who loves Thai cuisine and is one of the most popular and well-known soups in Thailand.
