Spring into a New Season with SUN with MOON – Embark on Their Latest Seasonal Spring Delicacy Menu for a Limited Time Only

Feast on the season’s bounty at SUN with MOON Japanese Dining & Café as they welcome the Spring season with a tantalizing new Spring Delicacy menu. Tuck into the plethora of seasonal ingredients, which includes fresh sea bream, firefly squid, rapeseed vegetables, and spring bamboo shoots amongst others. Available for a limited time until end-April 2023.

APPETIZERS

SUN Style Goma Tai $16.80

Break, dip, and enjoy! Savour sliced sea bream sashimi served with soy sauce, soft-boiled egg, and topped with sliced lily bulb. Mix the egg together with the soy sauce for a silky, savory dip. 


Katsuo Tataki Tosa-Tsukuri Style $21.80

The Katsuo Tataki is one of Kochi prefecture’s local delicacies, also known as Tosa province in the past, which boasts amazing flavor. Flame-seared fresh Bonito sashimi is prepared Tosa style, with plenty of chopped green onions, ginger, and perilla leaves, and sprinkled with garlic ponzu sauce for a stimulating taste.


SEAFOOD & MEAT CUISINE

Hotaru Ika & Nanohana Ajillo $19.00

A seasonal Spring experience unlike any other in the world, the Hotaru ika or firefly squid marks the arrival of Spring with its bold and briny taste alongside the hardy nanohana or rapeseed blossoms. This Japanese-style Ajillo dish honors the season’s best with both hotatu ika, nanohana, and tomatoes cooked in seasoned olive oil and garlic. Dunk the baguette slices and enjoy the savory olive oil sauce.


Takenoko Niku Maki $12.80

Sakura may be the symbol of Spring, but takenoko is known to be the taste of the season! Enjoy the young bamboo shoots with their crisp and tender texture wrapped with tender slices of beef and cooked in a fragrant sweet soy sauce to welcome the arrival of Spring.


Shirauo & Haru Yasai Arare Age $13.80

The perfect light bite to go along with an ice-cold beer in a toast to the arrival of Spring! Deep-fried to golden perfection, crunch on the tempura-battered Icefish, mizuna, or Japanese mustard greens, and spring bamboo shoots.


Kinmeidai Nabe $24.80 

A comforting and value-for-money Spring delicacy hotpot not to be missed! Sliced golden eye snapper with its delicate and tender flesh that is mild tasting yet full of umami flavors is served hotpot style together with seasonal rapeseed blossoms, soft tofu, mushrooms, and vegetables in a flavourful Japanese dashi. 



DESSERT

Celebrate Spring with the Spring Dessert Plate with Sakura-Yu $14.00 comprising a trio of Japanese sweets – Sakura mochi, sweet glutinous rice filled with red bean paste and wrapped in a pickled Sakura leaf; Shio Daifuku, mildly salted Japanese confectionary made with red bean paste wrapped in mochi; and Sakura-yu, salted Sakura blossom soaked in hot water. The chewy mochi sweet fish cake or Taiyaki (1 piece - $5.00, 2 pieces - $9.00) filled with a choice of red bean paste or custard cream is also not to be missed.
