Many cafes in Jakarta offer a variety of coffee drinks, including specialty drinks such as latte art, as well as tea, juice, and other beverages.

The interior design of cafes in Jakarta is diverse, ranging from minimalist and industrial to eclectic and colorful. Traditional Indonesian cafes also add to the ambiance, offering a unique experience compared to modern cafes. Additionally, free Wi-Fi is available at many cafes, making them popular spots for remote workers, students, and freelancers.

If you're hungry, cafes in Jakarta also serve a range of food items, from pastries and cakes to sandwiches and light meals. Whether you're looking for healthy or indulgent options, you're sure to find something to satisfy your cravings.

Overall, the cafe scene in Jakarta is constantly evolving, with new cafes opening regularly and existing cafes updating their menus and decor to keep up with the latest trends. If you're a coffee lover, Jakarta is a city that you won't want to miss. I was in Jakarta recently for a holiday and I have compiled a list of 10 cafes that I went to.

1) Kawisari Cafe & Eatery

I went to Kawisari Cafe & Eatery and let me tell you, it's got some seriously good food inspired by traditional recipes from the Kawisari villagers. The place is housed in this cool old Dutch colonial building that's all white and two stories high. The interior is so Indonesian, with wooden chairs covered in cute pastel cushions, rustic wooden tables, and huge paintings depicting the life of coffee farmers in Kawisari. The dining area is open-air and it's nothing like your typical cafes around here. The decor is on point! 🙌

2) Cafe Batavia

I checked out Café Batavia and let me tell you, it's definitely one of the most charming spots in Jakarta. Everyone says it's a must-visit place, and I can see why! The architecture is all classy bistro vibes with a touch of colonial decor, and the rustic interior is so cool with old parlor floors, marble tabletops, and art deco furnishings. It's popular for a reason!

3) Lucky Cat Coffee & Kitchen

You must visit Lucky Cat Coffee & Kitchen in Jakarta! It's this Instagrammable café in a colonial-style house with white-brick walls. With its minimalist look - imagine rustic wood and lofty ceilings with a glass roof allowing in loads of sunshine - the feeling is on another level. In contrast to the outside, the cafe's hanging plants and the huge old tree in the center give off abandoned building vibes. It's very stunning and exudes a relaxed feel. If you enjoy coffee, this is a must-see. Really one-of-a-kind and absolutely amazing!

4) Giyanti Coffee Roastery

Giyanti Coffee Roastery has a stunning Balinese Indonesian-style doorway that is perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. It opens up to a beautiful outdoor patio adorned with a small pool, lush greenery, and communal tables. The vibrant atmosphere extends into the interior space as well, which features an industrial theme with hanging metal lamps, chalkboards, and exposed brick walls. The decorations include unique Indonesian objects like petromax lamps, ancient thermoses, old scales, and traditional Indonesian games, scattered throughout the room.

5) EVLOGIA CAFE & CO

Hey, if you're up for a good time, check out EVLOGIA CAFE & CO. I was gonna hit up Cliq Coffee & Kitchen, but they were closed! But EVLOGIA CAFE & CO is a cozy joint with this chill, homey vibe. It's not all noisy and crazy like some other places, and it's away from all the traffic madness. And guess what? They've got more than just coffee on the menu. They've got legit main courses like pasta and rice dishes too!

6) Bear-Sama Cafe

Yo, you gotta check out Bear-Sama Cafe in Meruya, West Jakarta! It's like a hidden gem with that cool Balinese coast vibe, totally giving me those vacay feels from the Island of the Gods. The outdoor area with the mini pool was super attractive. I can just chill by the pool, sippin' on their awesome drinks.

7) Guten Mørgen Coffee Lab & Shop

So, I was just chilling at this café when a friendly stranger offered to help me take some photos. She suggested I check out Crumble Crew, which is this cool spot with a bunch of cafes and restaurants all in one building. I noticed that Guten Mørgen Coffee Lab & Shop was there too, and they had their own seating area. Plus, the front terrace of the building is perfect for outdoor seating, with a canopy-roofed window as a beautiful backdrop. Sounds like a pretty chill spot to hang out!

Opening Hours: 7am - 10pm

8) ZHU ZHU Coffee

ZHU ZHU Coffee is this adorable cafe that's all decked out in cute pastel colors. It's a bit tricky to find though, 'cause it's tucked away on the ground floor of a private estate. But hey, it's worth the hunt! They've got both coffee and non-coffee options, plus pastries to satisfy your cravings.

Opening Hours: 11am - 7pm

9) One-Fifteenth Coffee 1/15 Coffee

One-Fifteenth Coffee is going for a minimalist vibe with their Kemang outlet, which is pretty cool. I tried to take some pics outside with my tripod, but security stopped me for some reason. LOL, I'm not really sure why Indonesians have this weird rule about taking pics outside. It's outdoor seating, and I wasn't bothering anyone! Anyways, their pandan latte was the bomb! Definitely worth trying!

Opening Hours: 7am - 9pm

10) KISAKU Laksana

So, I went to this coffee joint called KISAKU Laksana, which means warm, friendly, and all things nice in Japanese. The place has this cool minimalist Japanese vibe with a cozy outdoor seating area in the Laksana neighborhood. They've got this zen garden-like spot right in the middle, which is pretty cool. I tried their iced pandan latte, and it was so refreshing, though I gotta say, the pandan flavor could've been stronger.

Address: Jl. Laksana I No.24, RT.6/RW.6, Rw. Bar., Kec. Kby. Baru, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12180, Indonesia
