REVIEW: Good Claypot Chicken rice in Singapore: NanXing Claypot Rice in Circuit Road Market & Food Centre Singapore

NanXing Claypot Rice is conveniently located within Circuit Road Market & Food Centre, close to both the Mattar and Macpherson MRT stations. It is the earliest and oldest claypot rice shop at Circuit Road Food Centre.

We chose two dishes: the Claypot Chicken Rice ($7) and the Luncheon Meat and Egg Rice ($6). 

The Claypot Chicken Rice came with a generous portion of boneless chicken, vegetables, lup cheong, and salted fish. To obtain the crispy rice at the bottom, the pot was first cooked on a gas stove and then transferred to a charcoal stove. The flavor was good to me.

Luncheon meat with egg has numerous luncheon meat cubes, veggies, and an egg in the center. Given the nature of claypot rice, the egg was cooked but remained a little runny. Given that several establishments also provided this in a rice bowl version, the claypot version was very tasty, albeit with more ingredients, and well worth the price.
