REVIEW: Good Chicken Rice stall in Singapore: Sin Ming Road Chicken Rice 新明路鸡饭 at Bishan Singapore

Checking out Sin Ming Road Chicken Rice 新明路鸡饭 which is located at Bishan. Those who have been fans of Sin Ming Road Chicken Rice for a while might recall that it was originally positioned along Sin Ming Road. However, to the surprise of many, the eatery made a significant move to its present location just last year. Despite the change in address, the restaurant's commitment to serving top-notch chicken rice remains unchanged. The new outlet has 70-seater indoor and al fresco seatings. The al fresco space can seat about 40 pax. Not only these, they have also expanded to selling tze char dishes which IMO was apt since they have a larger space now.

Address: 151 Bishan Street 11, Singapore 570151

Opening Hours: 10 am – 8 pm, Closed on Monday

On a recent visit to this establishment, I decided to go for the classic roast chicken set. To add a little extra flair to my meal, I opted for a chicken drumstick instead of the regular chicken cutlet, and I couldn't resist adding an additional braised egg. The set came complete with oyster vegetables and a steaming bowl of soup.

But what truly set Sin Ming Road Chicken Rice apart was the rice. It was aromatic, fluffy, and cooked to perfection. The grains weren't too oily, and they absorbed the flavors of the chicken and the sauce beautifully. It was the kind of rice that makes you understand why Hainanese Chicken Rice is so beloved.

The chicken drumstick was perfectly roasted to a golden brown and had a crisp skin which was a delightful textural contrast to the tender and succulent meat.

The oyster vegetables were a refreshing accompaniment to the rich flavors of the chicken and rice.
