REVIEW: Good Chee Cheong Fun in Singapore: Chef Leung's Authentic Hand-milled Rice Noodle Rolls (梁师傅肠粉) in Chinatown Singapore

If you're a food enthusiast exploring the vibrant culinary landscape of Chinatown Complex, there's a gem you won't want to miss – Chef Leung's Authentic Hand-milled Rice Noodle Rolls (梁师傅肠粉). This was the second Chee Cheong Fun stall I've tried at Chinatown Complex  After doing some research, I learned that this hawker stall is run by a former chef from Raffles Hotel with extensive dim sum experience. Chef Leung's menu offers a selection of five distinctive variations of Chee Cheong Fun, ensuring that there's something for every palate. Additionally, the menu boasts two types of porridge, providing a delightful contrast to the rice noodle rolls.

Address: 335 Smith St, #02-096 Chinatown Complex, Singapore 050335
Opening Hours: 7 am - 2 pm, Closed on Monday

During my visit, I decided to keep it simple and ordered the original Chee Cheong Fun. This particular dish is served without any toppings, allowing the flavors of the rice noodle rolls to shine. The rice rolls are bathed in a basic soy sauce with a hint of sesame oil, then artfully garnished with fresh spring onions and a touch of shallot oil. The result is a harmonious marriage of flavors, with the sauce perfectly complementing the delightful rice aroma of the noodle rolls.

The style of wavy rice rolls served at Chef Leung's may remind you of another local favorite, Grandpa Homemade Cheung Fun in Toa Payoh. While the appearance may be reminiscent, each stall has its unique flair and flavor. What truly sets Chef Leung's apart is their commitment to quality – they mill the rice for their Cheong Fun daily, and all condiments are meticulously crafted in-house.

I found the quality of the food here to be quite impressive, and the prices are reasonable.
