Explore Japanese Comfort Delights with Sushi Tei’s Winter Menu - Highlights include Snow Crab, Lobster, Shiro Mirugai and Wagyu

Wintertime is here, and this season calls for cozying up and tucking into comfort foods! Sushi Tei’s winter menu, entitled “Fuyu”, is set to regale you and your loved ones with a variety of seasonal and unique ingredients such as Shiro Mirugai Sashimi, wagyu, snow crab, and lobster.

The Shiro Mirugai, or geoduck, is specially imported from Aichi Prefecture. This oceanic delicacy promises a pronounced freshness as well as a complex flavor profile of briny and sweet. With its firm and crunchy texture, it delivers a most gratifying mouthfeel. The Shiro Mirugai Sashimi ($20.80) is presented au naturel, so you can savor its natural goodness.

Another highlight is the grain-fed wagyu, courtesy of premium Australian brand Jack’s Creek. The brand has won numerous awards, including the “World’s Best Grain-fed Steak” title at the prestigious 2023 World Steak Challenge. Its wagyu are fed a carefully curated diet for 400 to 500 days. Indulge in the unparalleled taste of its wagyu, hallmarked by exquisite marbling, incredible juiciness, and a melt-in-the-mouth texture. Not to be missed is the Jack’s Creek Wagyu Don ($29.80), which sees the striploin pan-fried to a beautiful crust, then paired with salmon roe and mushroom.

Seafood lovers are in for a real treat as the winter menu features several familiar delights such as zuwaigani and slipper lobster. Juicy and sweet snow crab leg is draped over a block of vinegared sushi rice in the Zuwaigani Mentai Sushi ($12.80). The meat is crowned with cod roe mayonnaise and flying fish roe, which envelop the palate with their umami notes.

There is also the Double Ebi Roll ($13.80), an irresistible row of deep-fried prawn sushi topped with prawn and yuzu mayonnaise. Dig into a bowl of belly-warming Slipper Lobster Nabe ($20.80) — the namesake ingredient swims alongside mushroom, tofu, and vegetables in a moreish crab dashi miso soup base.

Get whisked away to the famed yakitori restaurants of Japan with the Tori Tsukune ($12.80). These delightful skewered meatballs are chargrilled to a smoky finish and then slathered with a savory-sweet sauce. Relish their soft and bouncy texture!

Wash the food down with the invigorating Fizzberry Yuzu Mocktail ($6.80), a beautiful fusion of Sprite, raspberry, and yuzu. The cocktail version ($7.80) has the addition of sake. Cap off the meal with the Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream ($5.20), which hits the right balance of sweetness.

Sushi Tei’s Fuyu menu will be available from now till 29 February 2024.
