REVIEW: Good Handpulled noodles and Xiao Long Bao in Singapore: Hong Peng La Mian Xiao Long Bao 洪鹏拉面小笼包 at People's Park Food Centre, Chinatown Singapore

Are you a food enthusiast always on the lookout for hidden culinary gems? Look no further than People's Park Food Centre where I had the pleasure of discovering Hong Peng La Mian Xiao Long Bao 洪鹏拉面小笼包, a Michelin Bib Gourmand stall celebrated for its exquisite hand-pulled noodles, xiao long bao, and delectable dumplings.

Address: People's Park Food Centre, 32 New Market Rd, #01-1064, Singapore 050032
Opening Hours: 11am - 9pm

Despite the absence of a physical queue, I patiently waited for approximately 10 minutes as the dedicated staff diligently prepared orders, including those placed online.

For my dining experience, I opted for two signature dishes: the noodles with bean paste, known as zha jiang mian, and the renowned Shanghai xiao long bao.

The zha jiang mian arrived in a generously portioned bowl, brimming with springy noodles that promised a satisfying bite with every slurp. Topped with succulent minced pork in a savory black sauce and garnished with crisp, fresh cucumber, the dish exuded a tantalizing aroma reminiscent of braised flavors. However, I found myself yearning for a thicker consistency in the sauce, as it tended to thin out over time.

Next up was the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao. Each dumpling was filled with a harmonious blend of minced pork and fragrant chives and was encased in a slightly chewy wrapper that yielded a sumptuous, soupy interior.
