REVIEW: Good Wanton Mee stall in Singapore: 6th Avenue Wanton Mee in Sixth Avenue Singapore

When it comes to finding authentic, delicious street food in Singapore, the hunt can be half the fun. Recently, I stumbled upon a long-standing hawker stall in Sixth Avenue: 6th Avenue Wanton Mee, that has been delighting patrons since the 1980s. Despite the many changes in the food scene over the decades, this humble stall has stood the test of time, attracting a steady stream of customers daily.

Address: 24 Sixth Ave, Good Good Eating House, Singapore 276481

Opening Hours: Tues - Sun 5.30am - 1pm

Monday 5.30am - 2pm

Visiting 6th Avenue Wanton Mee during lunchtime, I was greeted by a familiar sight—a steady line of loyal customers, eagerly waiting to get their hands on a plate of their famed noodles. Unlike some other stalls that had fewer visitors, this one clearly has a dedicated following.

Curious to see what all the fuss was about, we ordered their signature wanton noodles and the intriguing mushroom noodles.

Wanton Noodles: The star of the show. The noodles were springy and perfectly cooked, providing a delightful bite. The wantons themselves were plump and flavorful. The sauce used to toss the noodles was a highlight, striking a good balance of flavors without being overly salty. The char siew (barbecue pork) was a bit on the dry side.

Mushroom Noodles: While the springy noodles were consistent, the dish was slightly let down by the toppings. The mushrooms, while plentiful, were somewhat bland. However, the overall experience was still enjoyable thanks to the excellent base of noodles and sauce.

6th Avenue Wanton Mee offers a nostalgic taste of Singapore's food heritage. The enduring popularity of this stall speaks volumes about the quality and consistency of its offerings.
