7 Phuket Thailand cafes you must visit!

1. BAKE Phuket

BAKE Phuket is a beloved brunch and bakery spot near Laguna, Bang Tao. It's the perfect place to relax on a cozy sofa or easy chair while indulging in its array of pastries, sandwiches, breakfasts, chocolates, coffees, and other hot and cold beverages.

Address: Lagoon Rd, Choeng Thale, Thalang District, Phuket 83110, Thailand

Opening Hours: 7am - 9.30pm

I tried the Linguine Salmone Affumicato (450 baht), which features a delightful combination of smoked salmon, vodka, cream, onion, and arugula. The dish boasts a rich, creamy sauce with a hint of vodka, perfectly complementing the tender smoked salmon. The sauce included bits of salmon and was topped with a generous piece of smoked salmon and a fried cheese stick. I also ordered a croissant since the cafe was known for its bakes as well. The croissant was buttery and flaky, with a golden-brown crust that added a satisfying crunch.

2. Origami Cafe Phuket

Origami Cafe Phuket is renowned for its inviting atmosphere and diverse menu featuring appetizers, entrees, coffee, and desserts. Its cozy design attracts both locals and tourists alike for dining or enjoying a casual coffee, especially the comfortable second floor. During my visit, I tried the espresso orange, which impressed me with its unique blend of orange juice and coffee. The tangy orange flavor slightly overshadowed the coffee, creating a refreshing twist. However, the lemon meringue tart didn't meet expectations; the meringue lacked the expected light and fluffy texture, coming off as somewhat hard.

3. Slumberland brunch n beans

Slumberland brunch n beans, tucked away on Bangkok Road near Phuket's old town, is a hidden gem worth discovering. Its menu features an impressive array of premium drinks and mouth-watering dishes, including burgers, pasta, mains, rice, sandwiches, brunch, and sides. Their pasta and rice options also include Thai choices. I tried the carbonara with scallops, which I appreciated for its perfect balance: the sauce lightly coated the pasta without being overwhelming. The scallops were beautifully seared to a golden brown on the outside and tender and juicy inside, adding a delightful texture to the dish. The sauce was rich yet not too heavy, making the carbonara with scallops a wonderfully satisfying meal.

4. Campus Coffee Roasters

Campus Coffee Roasters in Phuket Town is a top spot for coffee lovers. Situated at 6 Krabi Road, this café began as a university student's personal project in coffee roasting. It has now evolved into a well-loved coffee shop celebrated for its premium, single-origin coffee sourced from Northern Thailand. The café's inviting and rustic ambiance, featuring wooden elements and school-themed décor, creates a cozy atmosphere for visitors.

When I visited, I enjoyed a cup of dirty coffee with oat milk, paired with a delicious raspberry croissant. The dirty coffee was rich and smooth, perfectly complemented by the creamy oat milk. The raspberry croissant was flaky and buttery, with a sweet and tangy raspberry filling that made it a delightful treat.

5. Leikki Neighbourhood Cafe

Leikki Neighbourhood Cafe is a charming and inviting café situated in Rawai, Phuket. Its cozy ambiance is enhanced by the fully transparent floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light. I tried the Scallop Black Truffle Risotto with Parmesan and Portobello Mushrooms, which was rich and creamy with an earthy flavor that delighted the palate. The Tomato Cream Soup with Toasted Buttered Bread was equally impressive, offering a smooth, velvety texture and a perfect balance of savory and tangy notes.

6. Lay Cafe Phuket

Lay Cafe Phuket is a hidden gem in Phuket! Despite its small size, the cafe boasts a lovely sea view. The spot where I snapped a photo was set aside just for taking pictures. How delightful!

I ordered a soda which was refreshing to have and also their Strawberry Mille Crepe Cake. The Strawberry Mille Crepe Cake had layers of thin, delicate crepes, with each layer separated by a light and creamy filling. The top was adorned with fresh strawberries, adding a juicy, sweet-tart flavor that complemented the creamy texture of the cake. However, the cake itself was just average.
