When I first heard the name Cheeky Bee Hoon, I was intrigued by its playful tone. However, this stall is serious about its food, offering four variations of beehoon, one rice dish, and eight kinds of sides. For those who may not be aware, Cheeky Bee Hoon is led by Chef Darwin Wong, formerly a chef at the French-Japanese fusion restaurant JIDAI. Intrigued by this unique blend of tradition and modern culinary techniques, I decided to visit their outlet at Lucky Plaza.

Upon arriving, we decided to try the Cheeky Signature Bee Hoon and the Dry Cheeky Braised Pork Bee Hoon, along with the crab dumpling soup and Charcoal You Tiao. Here's a detailed review of our delightful experience:
Cheeky Signature Bee Hoon
At $10.50, the Cheeky Signature Bee Hoon offers incredible value for money. The bowl was brimming with ingredients, including tender pork slices, meatballs, and clams. The broth had a nice balance, with slight peppery notes and a more sweet than savory profile. The beehoon absorbed the broth wonderfully, making each bite a slurp-worthy delight. This dish perfectly showcased the stall's dedication to quality and flavor.
Dry Cheeky Braised Pork Bee Hoon
Next, we tried the Dry Cheeky Braised Pork Bee Hoon. This dish was equally impressive, featuring a sauce with a slight spice that complemented the tender, mouthwatering braised pork. The beehoon had an incredible springiness, reminiscent of tang hoon, and the addition of pork lard added a rich depth of flavor. A tip for fellow foodies: be sure to toss everything well to enjoy the full spectrum of flavors!
Crab Dumpling Soup
The crab dumplings were another highlight. Generously filled with chunks of crab meat, the dumplings were well-made and flavorful. The accompanying soup was rich and aromatic, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Charcoal You Tiao
Lastly, we tried the Charcoal You Tiao, which featured otah meat sandwiched between crispy you tiao. The interplay of textures between the crispy exterior and the flavorful otah made this dish an interesting and enjoyable addition to our meal.
