REVIEW: Good Korean-inspired Cafe in Johor Bahru, Malaysia: Yeon Cafe

Having a sugar blush and lowkey blushing at how beautiful Yeon Cafe is! This charming Korean-style cafe is nestled in the Pelangi area, perfect for those looking to indulge in an aesthetic environment. I chose to sit by the window, at the most Instagram-worthy spot in the cafe. As I walked in, the soft tunes of IU's music set the perfect mood.

Address: 12, Jalan Perang, Taman Pelangi, 80400 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

Opening Hours: 10.30am - 10pm

Yeon Cafe specializes in a delightful mix of Korean mains, Japanese-inspired dishes, and some truly mouthwatering bakes. Their beverage menu is just as impressive, featuring a range of options from soda and kombucha to coffee and more.

For my sweet treat, I ordered the Fresh Cherry Black Forest Cake paired with a refreshing Red Grape Soda.

The Black Forest Cake was a slice of indulgence—rich and decadent, with layers of dark chocolate sponge cake, whipped cream, and fresh cherries. The cherries, nestled within the cream, added a delightful burst of juicy tartness. The cake was beautifully topped with a swirl of cream, more cherries, and a delicate chocolate piece. The plate was thoughtfully garnished with crumbles and sliced almonds, which perfectly complemented the rich chocolate flavors.

As for the Red Grape Soda, it was served in a tall, frosted glass, making it as visually appealing as it was refreshing. The soda had subtle hints of grape, while a sprig of thyme added a touch of elegance, balancing the sweet flavors.

If you’re looking for a cozy, picture-perfect spot with delightful desserts and a great vibe, Yeon Cafe should definitely be on your list!
