REVIEW: JQ Chef Cafe at Toa Payoh (Permanently closed)

JQ Chef Cafe is relatively new in the Toa Payoh Area. They took over this space from Les Patisserie. JQ Chef is essentially the chef's name Johnny Quek who is the ex-chef of  World’s First Full Butler Sky Dining at Singapore Flyer.

I find that the cafe is not really inviting with the extremely dim lighting. Picture below is edited brighter using Photoshop. Not really nice for cafe hoppers who are hoping to take the best picture of their food.

The cafe serves deserts, drinks, mains and pasta and they do not deviate much from the predecessor. Not sure if they're busy during lunch hour but it is kind of empty during dinner time. Their menu was kind of meh as they serve ordinary food such as Mixed Grill (SGD $20.90), Carbonara (SGD $12.90) and Chicken Lasagna (SGD $13.90) but the food wasn't bad at all. Yummy Western food at a slightly affordable price.

Address: 186 Toa Payoh Central, 310186
Opening Hours: 11.30am - 10pm Everyday

Roasted Chicken Leg (SGD $14.90)
This was actually quite delicious. Roasted chicken leg was very tender and juicy. The taste was tantalizing when dipped in the yakiniku sauce. It is served with sauteed mix vegetables and mashed potato. They could have given more vegetables!

Beef Bolognese (SGD $14.90)
This was quite worth my money as the portion was big and as you can see they are quite generous in the given tomato pronto sauce.
