REVIEW: Good Cafe food in Singapore: Lepark at Chinatown (Permanently closed) and Niche Savoureuse at Toa Payoh

They're having an event at the inner part of the cafe~ then we saw a PAP MP walking out soon after.
Anyways it is nice to finally meet up with my friend to have some nice dinner at this place. Not sure why it's Lepark, because people normally say lepak instead, or probably it's a pun because it's at people's park? It is situated at the former car park of the People’s Park Complex. You can get up from a spiral staircase at level 5. If you're unsure, just spot this orange green building from afar.

You order drinks and food from different counters. You also collect your own food when the buzzer buzzes. It also seems like they have more alcohol drinks as compared to non-alcohol drinks. Most of the drinks are pricey and they're priced $10 and above. You can expect unique Tapas like Poached chicken sushi($8) and Thai basil pork with stuffed tau pok($8). You can also eat mains like the Slipper Lobster and crab meat tom yum pasta which costs $18 and Wagyu beef burger at $22.

We ordered the Slipper Lobster and crab meat tom yum pasta, truffle fries with truffle mayo and the other one i forgot what it is called.. it is some beef ball in some sauce. I especially loved the pasta! It's not really spicy but flavorful and the pasta is al dente too. PS Slipper Lobster looks more like crayfish. The truffle fries and beef balls are not that impressive, esp the truffle fries where we hardly taste any truffle. lol Despite all these, all in all it is a good place to chill and just lepak with friends. :)

Was surprised that Niche Savoureuse cafe has new food items!! YAY! This is one of the cafes that i frequent for breakkfast during the weekends. This feels so much like brunch though. Skipping breakfast just for that fancy all day breakfast to be eaten during lunch time. oh well~ if it's makes me happy, why not?

We had the All Day Breakfast! Scrambled Eggs, Smoked Sausage, Bacon, Shrooms & a slice of Toasted Pannetone Sweetbread made fr Natural Yeast. The scrambled eggs were creamy but lack any significant taste at all. The Toasted Pannetone Sweetbread was nice though. I like the robust sweet flavor.

the REAL deal lasagne - minced pork loin slow cooked in a tomato & mushroom red wine sauce; layered with béchamel, mozzarella & parmesan. Absolutely absolutely yummy! ^^v
