REVIEW: Ah Hoe Mee Pok and Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice

What's so interesting about Ah Hoe Mee Pok is that they're quite successful in fusing japanese elements into this local delight. This bowl of bcm might make you feel like you're slurping on a bowl of mee pok but this is dry. They even added few pieces of char siew into it and also generous with their pork lard. There's this very distinctive miso sweet taste when i was eating it. Good to give it a shot when you're in the area.

Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice is located at Maxwell Food centre. They're so popular that there's perpetually a long queue every time but thankfully the queue moves fast. hahaha. Their claim to fame perhaps was what Anthony Bourdain said "the chicken rice was so fragrant and delicious that it could be eaten on its own". They are also listed in the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore in 2016 and 2017. Their chicken drum stick was tender and their rice was fragrant and good. Not sure why people are so hyped about this but their chicken rice are definitely above average.
