2 CAFES TO GO TO IN NAKA-MEGURO TOKYO JAPAN

I have been to Tokyo many times and this is My first time to Naka-Meguro. Came here to cafe- hop and walk around, but the river is so bare ... I thought the winter light up is still available so i waited til night time but there's nothing?!!!??? Only managed to visit 2 cafes though.

Chanoma is a quaint cafe located above Nakameguro station. The chill vibes is strong in this cafe with the sofa area where people could just sit down, read a book or hang out with friends over food! Reminds me of what i can see at a beach resort. Sit by the sofa area with natural light coming through and enjoying the beautiful view of the meguro river.

The interior is kind of a combination of industrial and minimalist with the grey concrete ceiling and white themed furniture. Only downside is that people chill there for too long and this resulted in a long queue! This is also the first restaurant styled like a “living room”. Unique !!

I ordered the matcha and coconut parfait with matcha sauce drizzled all over and azuki beans as sides. The matcha was kind of weak but the coconut was kind of refreshing and not overpowered by the sauce.

I popped by another cafe which was sidewalk stand for some coffee. It was windy AF outside and was unusually cold. Sidewalk Stand is a small coffee shop along the Meguro river with 2 stories. This one is similar to Chanoma where you can get a good view of the river. You can also get bite sized food by pound cakes and sandwiches to go along with the coffee. How about some beer too? hahaha Check out their Menu here.
