WHERE TO EAT JAPANESE PANCAKES IN TOKYO JAPAN?

These fluffy souffle pancakes are a hit in Singapore with cafes from Japan popping up here in our sunny shores, but what could be better if I could go to Tokyo Japan and try out their original souffle pancakes! This is one of my mission in this trip. I managed to try the pancakes at Gram, a happy pancake and burn side st cafe. These kind of pancakes are famous for their light, fluffy and melt in your mouth texture. These are made using eggs and whipped egg whites to create the infamous cloud like texture. These are traditionally served with butter, whipped cream and syrup. They are then topped with cream, caramel, nuts and fruits such as banana and strawberries. Be prepared to wait as these pancakes takes awhile to make. But trust me, it is so worth it.

Gram Café & Pancakes

Gram’s special fluffy pancakes is PREMIUM~
The special pancakes take 30 minutes to make, and that's why it's so limited that it's only available at 11am, 3pm, and 6pm. Only 20 orders each time too and at JPY950.

Each order comes with a tower of three very fluffy pancakes that is 4cm thick each so that makes 12cm in total, served with whipped cream, syrup and butter. They're mega airy and flurry with melt-in-your-mouth texture! Light in taste but omg so delicious! These towering pancakes are not to be missed!

Smear that butter all over and a dip of that syrup and fork that into your mouth for happiness.

A Happy Pancake
SHIAWASE NO PANCAKE
幸せのパンケーキ 表参道

Hailing from Osaka, A Happy Pancake is located at Omotesando. These are made free-form without a mold and plated overlapping each other unlike Gram. More egg yolks in this so this comes as a slightly more yellowish than others.

I ordered the Happy Pancake at 1,100 yen. They come with Manuka honey whipped butter and caramel syrup. These are fluffy too and if you prefer something more eggy, these are right up your alley!

Burn Side St Cafe

This shop selling souffle pancakes is famous around the Harajuku area with streaming queues. I ordered the white souffle pancake which cost 1,220 yen. The light fluffy pancake is served with Maple nut butter with raisins, maple syrup and whipped cream. The addition of meringue and ricotta cheese contributed to the fluffy and lighter texture. Power up!

Their acronym B is stamped on top of the pancake. These cottony clouds of heaven are not to be missed if you're around the area!
