[REVIEW] AFFORDABLE FRENCH FOOD AT SAVEUR @ PURVIS

I would never associate french food and "affordable" together.. coz to me french food is not my first choice but I think we have Saveur to take care of that as the food there is somewhat nice and the price is affordable. I remember I went to Saveur at Far East Plaza a very long time ago and was very impressed with the Saveur Pasta. I'm finally back to try out other dishes...

En croute (pronounced "on KROOT") indicates a food that has been wrapped in pastry dough and then baked in the oven. It is also the french version of the Beef Wellington.
The Beef en croute 🥩caught my eye with the flaky golden brown pastry encasing the juicy and tender beef with mushroom duxelles, and foie gras on a bed of bordelaise sauce and grilled vegetables. An exceptional mouthwatering dish!

We also tried the Pan Seared Sea bass 🐟 with Sauce Vierge that consists of anchovies, herbs, espelette, pimento and poached potatoes. The skin is crispy but not burnt and overcooked with tender flesh. The sweet and tart sauce matches well with the fish making it an appetizing meal.

Lastly, I ordered the Saveur Pasta again. It's basically Capellini with Sakura Ebi 🦐, chives drizzled in shallot oil. This plate of starter is served cold and makes a good appetizer.
