TOP 10 MUST-TRY PLACES TO GET YOUR ICE CREAM FIX IN SINGAPORE

Summer would not be summer without Ice Cream. Since Singapore is Summer all year round, I have compiled a list of 10 places everyone can go to get their Ice Cream fix! Bring on the warm weather, please. I have got everyone covered!

1. Bread and Butterfly

Located at the bustling Basement 1 of Wisma Atria(Next to Fruce), it is not hard to spot this shop! Their unique flavours will make you want to make a trip back there!

I tried all 12 flavours but My fav is the Blue Vanilla with Black Sea Salt and Strawberry Tomato!

The vanilla balances well with the saltiness and not to mention just how Instagrammable this is with the blue colour.

If you're a huge tomato enthusiast like me, you would love the Strawberry Tomato flavour! I really like how I can taste more of the natural sweetness of the tomato in this ice cream.

For the full experience, their Lavender cone adds a lovely touch. The cones they used are infused with fresh Lavender pods.

2. Creamier

If ya'll don't know, Creamier has moved to a bigger space but still located in Toa Payoh.

Their waffles are undeniable IMO one of the best here in Singapore. Crisp, buttery and fluffy goodness paired with their ice cream and a cup of coffee. what a heavenly combo!

3. DENZY GELATO

This new shop is located near to the Bishan MRT and bus interchange. I'm here for yummy gelatos in the Bishan heartlands. All gelato is made from scratch in-house and churned fresh. Single scoop cost $3.60, while a double scoop cost $4.80.

The flavour I chose was Elderflower Mojito Sorbet and Houjicha. The sorbet was super tangy but was bearable gradually. The houjicha was rich and with roasty undertones. I mean if you're not impressed, the shop won the prestigious title of “Singapore’s Best Gelato” at the inaugural Singapore Gelato Championship on 28 August 2019.

Address: 506 Bishan Street 11, #01-404, Singapore 570506

Opening Hours: Mon-Sat 12pm - 10.30pm

4. The Daily Scoop

Finally, a decent ice cream shop near to the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station and is located at School of the Arts (SOTA). I was introduced to this place by friends and we came in quite late but the place was packed with teens. Wah, they started in 2004 in Sunset way, 2009 in Holland Village, 2013 in Sembawang and finally SOTA in 2015. That's 16 years of history. lolol

Gotten the Salted Mister Brown flavour with the Rainbow cone! Love the subtle saltiness I get from the salted caramel ice cream with chunks of Brownie chips inside. The Daily Scoop has more than 50 unique creations for you to choose from. They also have interesting flavours such as Cha Earl Grey, Cashew Caramel, Kookie Monster, Lychee Martini and Maple Crisp.

5. Dopa Dopa Creamery

Dopa Dopa Creamery has been around since 2018 and only eight rotating flavours every day. They keep their ice cream in the traditional Pozzetti. It is the traditional way of storing gelato and ice cream. Recommended flavours to try here are the Pistachio, Green Tea Toasted Rice and Hojicha. If you want something unique, why not try the Watermelon Mint or Apple Ginger sorbet?

6. The Humble Scoop

This shop is abit obscure and hard to find unless maybe someone recommends you or you actively find out what's in the area of Katong. The Humble Scoop is located within Katong Shopping Centre.

What I like about this stall is they take nostalgic local flavours that we grew up with and breath new life into it, just like the Atas Ripple flavour. This is an upgrade from the usual ripple ice cream and has black currant jam swirled into it! Ribena is one of my fav drink ever so this is right up my alley~

As a child, I grew up eating Haw flakes. They're this small circular Chips wrapped in paper packaging. It comes in this pale/dark pink colour. When I saw this available there, I knew I had to try it! It tastes just like the Haw flakes that I remembered. It leaves a tangy aftertaste in the mouth and can be quite addicting! Oh yes, you can find real haw flakes inside the ice cream too. 😍πŸ₯°

They also have flavours such as Sugar Cane With Lemon and. Guava Sour Plum which is interesting too!

Singapore 437844
Opening Hours: 12pm - 9.30pm

7. Tom's Palette

Tom's Palette is also another underrated ice cream shop, but slightly more well-known than the humble scoop. Not very difficult to spot this shop as people for sure will walk pass this as they make their way through Shaw towers to Suntec City.

They have very interesting flavours such as the Salted Egg Yolk. The salted egg yolk ice cream is no joke as the flavour is really prominent with real salted egg yolk bits leh!! LOVE IT!

Granny’s Favourite is so rich and chocolatey. It is basically chocolate and malt ice cream with chunks of eggless cookie dough. Luscious and indulgently good!

Look out for new flavours every month! They also have seasonal and festive limited flavours.

Fri -Sat 12pm - 10pm

8. Little Damage

Little Damage from Los Angeles has flown in from America and set up a stall at Wheelock Place. Although a small shop front, I guess customers don't need to sit down to enjoy this Instagrammable Ice Cream. This is essentially the darker and more "Goth" version of Aqua S with the ebony cones and softserve being their best seller.

I ordered the black softserve which is the coffee caramel flavour. Couldn't taste the coffee in this but the caramel flavour is evident in this.

The Unicorn tears is also a hot fav at the store.

The Smurf Blue Soft Serve 🍦 is seriously so Instagrammable. I actually came back again coz it was sold out on my first visit. The flavour is cookies πŸͺ and cream but all I could taste was vanilla. 🀣 Added fruity pebbles topping as it looks better for the gram.

Both of the soft serves are creamy and kind of icy in texture.

Address: 2 Haji Ln, Singapore 189195

Opening Hours: 11am - 10.30pm daily

9. Icenoie Hokkaido

Hokkaido soft serve in Singapore?! Seems like we are seeing more of Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ in Singapore lately which is not necessarily a bad thing. Hehe
The softserve ice cream is incredibly milky coz of Hokkaido milk and yummy followed a layer of custard and torched brown sugar crystals on TOP which completes this creme brûlée softserve. Recommended to try this! 🍦

Their softserve is also made with 100% Hokkaido Milk. For those that do not know what is that, it is milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized. It is claimed that Raw Milk is better for those with lactose intolerant and also is super-rich in healthy bacteria and makes for a great probiotic drink that can benefit your digestive system. It is also rich in Vitamin D and calcium.

10. Nasty Cookie

Started in 2018 by a female profession bodybuilder, Nasty Cookie started as an online business before having their own outlet at the new Funan Mall. Their Tiffany blue colour storefront and neon signs really drew people in!

Here's How you order:

1) Choose from a range of classic flavours such as chocolate chip and dark chocolate chip or premium ones like cookies and creme, choco Bueno (a mix of chocolate and Kinder Bueno), Reese’s cup, and O’Smarties.
2) Choose the filling that you want to be injected to your cookie from options such as Nutella, caramel, and marshmallow.
3) Be careful when you eat as the fillings are quite generous and could cause quite a mess! haha

They also have the Biscoff softserve when I was there. It tastes just like a Lotus Biscoff biscuit with the distinct caramel flavour. Really enjoyed this.

Funan Mall, 179105
Opening Hours: Mon - Thurs 11.30am - 9.30pm
