Taiwanese Café, Typhoon Café Opens Second Outlet in Bugis+ with new Typhoon Cocktail series starting from 18 January

 

2020 has been a year of staying grounded and canceled holiday plans for most of us and while we may feel restless, itching to cross borders, Typhoon Café has taken the lead to transport us to Taiwan. It has recently opened its second outlet in Bugis+, with its interior simulating a hole-in-the-wall cafe along Taiwan’s quaint Fujian Cafe Street. 

In conjunction with the opening, Typhoon Café will be launching a new Typhoon Cocktail series for diners to enjoy a sip (or three) of their favorite bubble tea with alcohol! At $14.90++, have your pick from 11 new drinks with alcohol selections such as Gin, Vodka, Kahlua, and more.

A crowd-pleaser is its Spiked Pearl Milk Tea; featuring the quintessential home-brewed Taiwanese milk tea with chewy tapioca pearls and top it off with a choice of vodka or sweet Kahlua. Another must-try is the Sweet Gin; a spinoff of Typhoon Café’s ever-popular Sweet Potato Fresh Milk, now topped with a dash of Gin. 

Cocktail enthusiasts can opt for the Tropical Passion Fruit Vodka or the Majestic Gin with Mango Peach; both featuring a fruity tea base, assorted fruits complemented with vodka or gin. These drinks will be available in both Bugis+ and Plaza Singapura outlets from 18 January 2021.

A Slice of Taiwan in Our Little Red Dot

Its name “台风” (which also means Typhoon) is an abbreviation of “台湾风味” which means Taste of Taiwan and it aims to do exactly that – bring a slice of Taiwan to our little red dot. Its casual unpretentious restaurant is perfect for Taiwanese food lovers; one no longer has to endure “夜市” crowds and compromise sleep to get a Taiwan food fix. Its menu comprises flavors of Taiwan from ‘lu rou fan’, oyster omelet, and sweet potato porridge set to its obsession for artisan fruit teas, bubble milk teas, and intricately made desserts such as its soufflé creations. 

To celebrate the new outlet opening, Typhoon Café is having an opening promotion where Citibank cardholders get to enjoy 1-for-1 Dessert of the Day from now till 31 March 2021.

Diners can have a taste of Typhoon Café’s fluffy, cottony clouds with its soufflé pancakes. With their own take of the famed jiggly desserts, they offer Taiwanese-flavoured soufflés (each at $17.90++) such as Soufflé Stackers with Taiwan Milk Tea & Bubble that comes with milk tea ice cream, chewy tapioca pearls, and milk cream; and Soufflé Stackers with Taro, Bubble, Red Bean & Green Tea Sauce served with vanilla ice cream, taro balls, sweet potato balls, matcha balls, tapioca pearls, red beans, and on the side, green tea sauce.

Another must-try is its Hell Valley Chocolate Volcano ($16.90++) - sounds exciting already! This video-worthy dessert is brought to life when liquid nitrogen is poured into the chocolate volcano for a smoky effect accompanied by chocolate “lava” sauce which completes the oozing hot look. Playing a supporting role is the unique blondie (vanilla brownie), fresh fruits, Oreo crumbles, and vanilla ice cream which go perfectly with the chocolate volcano bites.
