Lobster feast and Famous Ipoh Moonlight Hor fun in Singapore - Beast & Butterflies and Ipoh Tuck Kee Son 怡保德记仔炒粉

I was at M SOCIAL SINGAPORE recently for a staycation and thought of dining at Beast & Butterflies which is just conveniently at the first level.  I am a huge lobster fan and they have what I love.

LOBSTER PORRIDGE
Teochew-style lobster rice porridge in crab broth, baby abalone, crispy conpoy, bonito flakes, fried shredded ginger, and scallion. This was a Teochew porridge with crab broth poured over rice. The lobster meat is generously portioned and served in a huge stone pot. The broth was bursting with the fresh sweetness of the crab. so umami!

3 CUP LOBSTER IN CLAYPOT
Wok-fried rock lobster, rice wine, thai basil leaves, sesame oil, and steamed rice. This was a unique way to cook lobster. If you didn't know, they replaced the chicken in the three-cup chicken (三杯鸡) with Maine lobster. The name three-cup chicken comes from the three key ingredients in the recipe which are Sesame oil, Chinese rice wine, and Soy sauce. The dish was fragrant but tbh, the sauce was too salty...The lobster was good though!

LOBSTER BISQUE
creamy emulsion with diced lobster. creamy goodness! so good! there was a good amount of succulent lobster meat inside.

Ipoh Tuck Kee Son menu

Ipoh Tuck Kee Son 怡保德记仔炒粉 is so famous that we waited for very long, probably close to an hour before the plate of moonlight hor fun came to our table. This stall is opened by the third generation of tuck kee thus there's a son at the back of the stall name. The original stall in Ipoh is very well-known and is on many must-visit lists.

The Moonlight hor fun was served with a raw egg on top, tossed in a black savory sauce, and pork lard. We could taste the wok hei but felt that the raw egg wasn't enough to coat the entire plate for the large size portion. Each plate is also individually fried so waiting can be long and also the quality is ensured this way as well. I feel that this one puts up a close fight to KEK Keng Eng Kee Seafood.
Also if you didn't know Why this is called Moonlight hor fun, The egg yolk is supposed to reflect the brightly lit full moon, while the noodles are supposed to represent a glistening river.

We also ordered the Fried Mee Tai Mak which is fried in the same sauce as hor fun with pork lard as well. this was so good too even though it is not the recommended dish to order.
