"Yakisoba" is a popular Japanese fried noodle meal and is usually stirfried with carrots, cabbage, onion, bean sprouts, and pork. It does look like the Chinese fried noodles or 炒面 and it is indeed inspired by that. Yakisoba is a common home-cooked dish in Japan and is found at many festivals and outdoor gatherings because all required to prepare it is a griddle. However, in Singapore, this is not readily available but comes in the instant form and these can be bought at Don don donki or like me from Lazada.
Also, the sauce is the key to a good bowl of yakisoba.Myojo Ippei-chan Yakisoba
Trying out the Myojo Ippei-chan Yakisoba. This was pretty satisfying as the portion is quite big and there was a generous cabbage beneath the noodles. I added more on top. The noodles were springy and the sauce provided was nice. This even has mustard mayo and furikake as garnishing! Authentic not? haha
Myojo Ippei-chan MENTAIKO Yakisoba
Trying out the Myojo Ippei-chan MENTAIKO Yakisoba. I totally enjoyed the umami flavors of fish roe! These yakisoba noodles come with a savory yakisoba sauce, a mentaiko infused mayonnaise, and cabbage, roasted nori seaweed, and fish roe garnishing.
