Where to have Matcha in Seoul?

Where to have Matcha in Seoul?

It was announced on October 8 that Singapore and South Korea have agreed to Launch Vaccinated travel lanes from Nov 15 onwards.

It is time for those that are planning to have their long-awaited holiday out of Singapore to start planning their itinerary! I went to 3 places in Seoul to have Matcha. Matcha is the insta-newest generation infatuation and has been trending for a long time. The irony of having matcha in Korea, because Japan is ubiquitous the place to have and also the source of Matcha. Seoul also has its fair share of matcha cafes. Local matcha powders are also produced in large quantities in South Korea, particularly in the southern regions and on Jeju Island.

Matchacha (Seoul)

The irony of having matcha in Korea, yet this café is a must-visit not just for the matcha, but also for its zen atmosphere. A wall-to-wall glass window behind the bar displays a forest backdrop. With only a few chairs at the bar and three small tables, the area is actually rather small.

This matcha has a sweet, mild flavor that is smothered by the addition of cream made using unrefined cane sugar.

Nocturne No. 5 (Seoul)

Although I am not a great lover of matcha, this café offers matcha ice cream in six different intensities, which I had to try while in Seoul. Nocturne No. 5 is known for its matcha-flavored ice cream, which is produced using Jeju matcha powder. I ordered the Matcha No. 2 ice cream and the Matcha Cheesecake with layers of various matcha intensities. If you can't decide which level of intensity to go for, there's a platter with all six matcha flavors.

OSULLOC TEA HOUSE 오설록 티하우스

Make time to visit one of Seoul's tea shops that specialize in Korean Green tea beverages and pastries. O'sulloc is from Jeju Island, and it's fortunate that there are multiple locations in Seoul where we can visit without having to fly to Jeju.

Check out here for their store location!
