World’s First Michelin-starred Ramen Eatery, Tsuta, continues to excite with two new items: Wagyu Beef Dandan Soba and Grilled Wagyu Beef on Hot Stone

Michelin-starred Japanese soba noodle chain Tsuta has never been one to rest on its laurels, seeking instead to continually excite its loyal clientele. This month, it continues to entice with two new items with a focus on wagyu beef: Wagyu Beef Dandan Soba and Grilled Wagyu Beef on Hot Stone

Tsuta’s world-renowned soba gets beefed up with the Wagyu Beef Dandan Soba ($16.80), made with minced Wagyu beef and enriched with a walnut paste. Cutting through the boldness are Szechuan green peppers for a touch of sweetness, black pepper powder for a veil of heat, and homemade mala oil to seal in the spice and flavors. A dash of apple cider vinegar brightens flavors while a sprinkling of diced spring onion, parmesan cheese, and fried garlic finish things off.

For beef lovers seeking purity of flavors, the Grilled Wagyu Beef on Hot Stone ($19.80) will satiate all cravings with thick slices of premium beef that diners can grill on their own over a sizzling hot stone. Each serving presents 100 grams of premium wagyu beef, served as readily sliced portions, for ease of consumption. Have both the Wagyu Beef Dandan Soba and Grilled Wagyu Beef on Hot Stone at $36.60. These two newly launched dishes will only be available for dine-in at Tsuta Takashimaya S.C. #B2-36A for a limited period.

Enjoy them on their own or as accompaniments with signature items like the shoyu soba and shio soba for an unforgettable Tsuta dining experience. The menu features an extensive range of nine flavors, catering to every palate. In addition, other wagyu beef dishes on the existing menu include the popular Wagyu Beef Don and the inventive Wagyu Beef Maki Roll.

Classics that continue to enchant include the Premium Char Siu Shoyu Soba, Teriyaki Chicken Paitan Soba, Mala Tonkotsu Soba, and the Crab Soba

Japanese Dining for All

While Tsuta may be a name known for its ramen, expect an extensive range of items – makis, sushi cones, tempura, rice bowls, Hamburg, okonomiyaki, and more.

Enjoy all the above with equally tasty sides to complete the experience. Gyoza, Salmon Carpaccio, and more sit alongside a list of salads that do not pale in comparison.

Wash it all down with drinks like the signature wheat tea or a range of cold brew teas - Mandarin Orange Black Tea, Sakura Peach White Tea, or Jasmine Lychee Green Tea. Beer options include the Heartland Beer, Japan favorite Kirin, and Coedo Shiro.

Tsuta’s Master of Creation

Founded by Chef Yuki Onishi, Tsuta’s flagship restaurant in Japan is the first ramen eatery ever to receive a Michelin star in 2016. The restaurant is located in Sugamo, a neighborhood area in Tokyo, Japan.

Chef Yuki’s recipe for success includes using only natural ingredients — with no additives or artificial flavoring — to create his artisanal cuisines. The offerings achieve the elusive umami flavor — the fifth taste coined by Japanese chemist Kikunae Ikeda. You can taste umami through receptors specific to glutamate, which abounds in natural ingredients such as soybeans, mushrooms, and beef. Tsuta achieves the umami flavor with its very own dashi, a unique blend of chicken, vegetables, clams, and other ingredients.

Chef Yuki honors the strong Japanese heritage with his ramen offerings. In Japanese culture, soba noodles are highly regarded and are deemed superior to ramen. Tsuta’s soba noodles are expertly and freshly made — four types of whole wheat flour give the noodles’ a firm bite and smooth texture.
