REVIEW: Good Western Food in Singapore: Elaine Western Food in Toa Payoh Singapore

I was looking for a nearby place to enjoy Western cuisine and stumbled upon Elaine Western Food. Their servings were generous and reasonably priced, offering a choice of 8 sides. We chose a main meal with 2 sides. Some main meals came with either Black Pepper sauce or Brown sauce.

Address: 18 Lor 7 Toa Payoh, #01 233 Block 18, Singapore 310018

Here's what we tried:

Fish & Chips paired with mashed potatoes and aglio olio:

The fish & chips boasted a perfectly fried exterior, crispy and satisfying, while the flesh remained tender and flaky. The aglio olio was garlicky and had a pleasant spicy kick, enhancing the overall flavor profile. The mashed potatoes, complemented by the savory brown sauce, were delightfully creamy.

Chicken Chop served with tomato-based spaghetti and fries:

The chicken chop, tender in texture, left me desiring a thicker cut. The shoestring fries, while enjoyable, could have benefited from a touch more saltiness. The tomato-based spaghetti exhibited a decent flavor, albeit with a slightly peculiar tanginess; a sweeter profile would have been preferable.

Cheesy Chicken Chop accompanied by mashed potatoes and aglio olio:

The cheesy chicken chop, adorned with cheese slices, proved to be a delightful treat. While the Kraft sliced cheese added a pleasant cheesy flavor, I couldn't help but wish for grated cheese instead.
