[REVIEW] 兴福肉骨茶 Kedai Bak Kut Teh Hin Hock

兴福肉骨茶 Kedai Bak Kut Teh Hin Hock
Fans of Herbal Bak Kut Teh will be pleased to eat here as opposed to those that love the peppery kind. The Bak Kut Teh boasts a much more robust herbal flavour which wasn't to my liking, unfortunately. There was this lingering sweet aftertaste of the Chinese liquorice 甘草 which I did not like. The soft and tender pork was blanketed by lots of tau kee which has soaked up the broth thus was not crispy.

We were there at late afternoon so it wasn't crowded at all. The first impression of this place is how spacious it is and the kitchen is open as well.

They are also famous for their fish here hence we ordered a poached red snapper. The fish was sourced from Pontian daily. The fish was drenched in their savoury sauce and was smothered with fried garlic and chopped spring onions. Fresh, juicy and meaty. They're not only selling BKT but also tze char dishes. We ordered a couple of vegetable dishes to go along with the soup and fish.
