In comparison to what we typically eat, the Malay-style fried rice had a spicy edge to it. The fried rice was aromatic, flavorful, and delicious as it was cooked with sambal. I like how this wasn't just one-dimensional spicy. I could taste the real flavor of the fried rice. The rice was well-fried and not clumped together, having a lovely chewy-tender texture. It absorbs the flavor yet does not get mushy.

This was accompanied by a massive drum stick. The drum stick had a lovely crispy-crunchy exterior and fork-tender flesh, but it was bland to me. The meat was quite tasteless, but it would have been fine with the sambal on the side.
