PizzaExpress, the love child of founder Peter Boizot and his love affair with Italy, is ready for Christmas with a series of festive specialties created for the holidays. It features favorites from years past, updated with new features, as well a host of new items, to make it a Christmas worth remembering.
Among them, look forward to the return of its Christmas Tree Doppio that you can pull apart with your hands as well as Natale Pizza that comes stacked with fresh, crisp, and sweet ingredients. There are also Oven-Baked Brussel Sprouts with Sweet Corn Riblets, Seafood Cioppino with Penne Pasta, and a Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake to wrap things up on a sweet, indulgent, festive note! The festive menu is available for a limited time only from 1st to 31st December 2022.
This year, PizzaExpress at Scotts Square welcomes the young and young at heart with a newly transformed in-house playpen in its glass-windowed indoor space. Expect a child-safe jungle gym within the enclosure, complete with slides and swings accompanied by rocking horses and a medley of other kids’ fun playthings. The floor will also be padded to ensure hazard-free play for the kids while the adults indulge in their favorite pizzas.
For over 50 years, PizzaExpress has specialized in gourmet, hand-made Italian pizzas and pasta made with the freshest ingredients. Bringing the iconic pizza toss over to the shores of Singapore and having trained passionate pizzaiolos who craft and toss creations by hand, they strive to bring the best of Italian cuisine to the table. All the food at PizzaExpress is made from scratch in-house using only fresh ingredients, with their pizzas traditionally made with the hand-toss method. PizzaExpress’s kitchen also adopts an open concept where diners can watch the masters at work, prepping and flipping pizzas.
Christmas Treats for the Season
Bringing a Christmas tree to the table to match the one in the living room, PizzaExpress brings back its Christmas Tree Doppio ($17.80), an edible tree of cheesy doughballs that you can pull apart and share with family and friends. Sixteen pieces of dough balls, topped with pork pepperoni, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, herbs, and spices, are pressed together into the shape of a tree and then served with pesto Genovese sauce and pesto Siciliano dips. Basil, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic from the pesto Genovese dress it in a rich sauce while the semi-dried tomato, pine nuts, and more parmesan cheese, butter, and garlic from the pesto Siciliano brighten flavors with a touch of tartness. This year, it even comes with additions of star-shaped spiced cinnamon cookies with a delectable sugar glaze. Gather around the tree this Christmas and then pull it apart for a tasty treat!
Pizzas continue to headline the specialty menu but are also dressed in a Christmas touch. The Natale Pizza ($32) pays homage to the holidays with passata, pork ham, dried cranberries, camembert cheese, and mozzarella cheese baked atop PizzaExpress’ house-made pizza pie. Cherry tomatoes, Spanish red onion, and black pepper add extra punch to the flavors. Topping the pizza is a butternut salad of butternut cubes, mixed salad, peppadew, and parmesan cheese tossed in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic reduction, cleverly served stacked in the center to mimic a Christmas tree sitting on top of the pizza.
Pasta comes with jewels of the sea with the Seafood Cioppino with Penne Pasta ($30), cooked in a rich stew of Tiger prawns, black mussels, and squid rings, sweetened with yellow peppers, celery, wild mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and Spanish red onions. It promises to warm the heart and stomach like a wood fire on a cold Christmas morning.
The quintessential Christmas vegetable, brussels sprouts, makes a much-welcomed appearance, as Oven-Baked Brussels Sprouts with Sweet Corn Riblets ($8). While sprouts are oven-baked with Spanish red onion and sweet corn riblets in the most classic methods of pure unsalted butter. A dash of extra virgin olive oil and black pepper finish it off for the perfect veil of fragrance.
For a sweet end to the perfect Christmas meal, the Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake with Vanilla Gelato ($16) is a full-on chocolate-on-chocolate delight. Dig into tiers of chocolate fudge cake layered with chocolate ganache. In between, fresh strawberries, blueberries, vanilla gelato, and whipped cream enrich the entire experience, topped off with Christmas cookies, chopped pistachio, and icing sugar.

For the picky littles, make it a Christmas treat to remember with PizzaExpress’ Make Your Own Pizza where they get to choose exactly what they want on their pizza. On a classic 7-inch dough, they may choose 4 toppings from mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, pineapple cubes, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni or ham, shredded chicken, corn kernels, button mushrooms, or black olives to create the pizza of their imagination. The set also comes with a choice of gelato and juice (for dine-in only).
