REVIEW: Good KL Hokkien mee in Singapore: Daruma Tavern at Springleaf

Finally checking out Daruma Tavern!! They are located at Sembawang road which is close to Springleaf MRT station.

Address: 25 Springside Green, #01-14 The Brooks II, Singapore 786015

Opening Hours: Mon - Fri 10am - 12am

Sat 9am - 12am

Sun 9am - 10.30pm

They do look like a bar/pub but with wide varieties of food from western, Japanese, local to thai. I heard so much about their KL Hokkien mee and decided to go there for lunch. Besides the KL Hokkien mee, we also ordered their Thai-style wonton mee in black sauce.

KL Hokkien mee

Stir fry noodles in a dark sauce with fresh prawns, sliced pork, and Chinese cabbage topped with signature pork lard and belacan chili

Their dark sauce is very nice! Not very sweet but has a well-balanced flavor of savory. the noodles were also well-cooked and coated well in the delectable yet sinful sauce. Their belacan chili definitely provided a spicy kick. 🥵

Thai Style Wanton Mee (Original / Black Sauce)

Egg noodles with char siew, fish sausages, and vegetables

Love that they use egg noodles for this so I don't has to taste the alkaline taste yellow noodles have. The noodles were springy and nice. They are already well coated in the sauce when served. The ingredients used were good, though we feel the wanton fillings could have been more substantial.
