Unique Japanese Maze Lohei at Menya Kokoro for an Abundant Chinese New Year

What is even better than golden crackers in lohei? Menya Kokoro’s new Maze Lohei uses the specialty noodle house’s signature thick and chewy wholewheat noodles deep-fried to golden perfection as “crackers”! They symbolize wealth and prosperity as we toss to an abundant Chinese New Year, this time with a wholesome Japanese twist.

The noodles or maze-soba are entirely made in-house from scratch using imported Japanese ingredients for an addictively toothsome crunch. An ingenious idea that showcases the handcrafted noodle goodness of Menya Kokoro, Tokyo’s most popular maze-soba restaurant chain.

In addition, each platter comprises a colorful medley of auspicious items such as wakame (Japanese seaweed), jellyfish, yellow preserved daikon, shime saba (cured mackerel), fukujinzuke (red Japanese pickles), amaebi (sweet shrimp), tamagoyaki strips, shredded white daikon, chopped lettuce, and shredded carrot. Accompanying sauces include the traditional sticky, sweet plum sauce with a tangy burst of yuzu, oil, crushed peanuts, and sesame seeds. Huat ah! 

Menya Kokoro’s Maze Lohei is priced at $16.80 for 2 Pax, and $26.80 for 4 Pax. Available for dine-in from 5 January to 31  January 2023, while stocks last.
