REVIEW: Good Italian Food in Melbourne: Max on Hardware at Hardware Lane Melbourne

As we strolled through Melbourne's CBD in search of a lunch spot, we stumbled upon Max on Hardware nestled in the heart of the city's renowned Hardware Lane. This eatery features a diverse range of authentic Australian-Italian cuisine, including delectable pasta dishes, mouthwatering pizzas, hearty mains such as chargrilled kangaroo and seafood paella, and the signature chicken Max. They also offer several delicious risottos.

Address: 54-58 Hardware Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia

Opening Hours: 12pm - 9pm

We ordered the following:

Spanish Fettuccini (31 AUD)

Prawns, chorizo, red peppers, capers, Spanish onion, fresh tomato, garlic, olive oil, and herbs

I had the Spanish fettuccini which comes with many pieces of succulent prawns. The fresh tomato, red peppers, and capers add a tangy and sweet undertone to the dish.

Spaghetti Pescatore (36 AUD)

The finest selection of seafood flamed in olive oil, garlic, onions, and herbs with Napoli sauce

The Spaghetti Pescatore has a rich and savory flavor profile from the seafood, with a slightly tangy and sweet flavor from the Napoli sauce.

Beef Brisket Lasagna (31 AUD)

Layers of homemade pasta with slow-cooked beef brisket, Napoli sauce, béchamel, and parmesan

The Beef Brisket Lasagna has a hearty and savory flavor profile from the beef brisket and parmesan, with a creamy and slightly tangy flavor from the béchamel sauce and Napoli sauce.
