REVIEW: Good Claypot Chicken rice in Singapore: Yew Chuan Claypot Rice 酉川沙煲饭 in Golden Mile Food Centre Singapore

It has been a while since my last visit to Golden Mile Food CentreYew Chuan Claypot Rice, also known as 酉川沙煲饭, has earned its reputation as a specialty hawker stall renowned for its Claypot Chicken Rice. The stall offers various sizes of claypot rice, with prices ranging from $12 to $30, ensuring that there's something for every appetite and budget.

What makes Yew Chuan Claypot Rice truly special is its dedication to preserving traditional cooking methods. Each dish is meticulously prepared over a charcoal stove, a practice that imparts a unique and immediately noticeable flavor. This commitment to tradition adds an authentic touch that elevates the entire dining experience.

Similar to other stalls, Yew Chuan Claypot Rice provides dark soy sauce and oil on the side, allowing you to customize your meal to your liking.

This mouthwatering dish features a tantalizing blend of chicken, salted fish, lup cheong (Chinese sausage), yun cheong (Chinese liver sausage), and vegetables. However, the true standout is the boneless chicken thigh. Expertly cooked to perfection, it boasts a tender and succulent texture that elevates the entire meal.

In the world of claypot rice, achieving the perfect rice texture is a mark of culinary excellence. Yew Chuan Claypot Rice excels in this department, ensuring that the rice maintains an impeccable texture. Say goodbye to mushy rice – here, each grain remains perfectly separate.

No visit to Yew Chuan Claypot Rice is complete without indulging in their dark sauce. As you can see from my plate, it's so good that I couldn't resist adding a generous amount to my rice. The sweet and savory notes of the sauce perfectly complement the smoky essence of the dish.
