REVIEW: Good Ban Mian in Singapore: Qiu Rong Ban Mian in Old Airport Road Food Centre, Singapore

As I ventured into the bustling Old Airport Road hawker centre, renowned for its myriad of culinary delights, I found myself drawn to the lesser-known yet highly-praised stall—Qiu Rong Ban Mian. Tucked away amidst the lively atmosphere, this gem has quietly thrived for over two decades, boasting a rich history that has contributed to its well-deserved reputation.

Address: Old Airport Road Food Centre, 51 Old Airport Rd, #01-64, Singapore 390051

Opening Hours: 11.30 am - 9 pm

Opting for their sliced fish ban mian, I was presented with a dish featuring a rich amalgamation of ikan bilis, fresh fish slices, minced pork, veggies, and delicate egg strands atop the noodles.

One couldn’t help but notice the soup's intriguing appearance—a darker, more mysterious hue than expected. However, appearances can be deceiving, and my first spoonful revealed a depth of flavor that transcended its outward impression. The broth, while initially enigmatic in color, was robust and satisfying, ultimately relishing its hearty goodness.
