The idea of Mee Hoon Kueh, a traditional noodle dish, embracing such a kaleidoscope of hues was a pleasant surprise. Intrigued by this unexpected twist, I couldn't resist ordering their signature dish – the Happy Bowl, featuring Mee Hoon Kueh crafted from an array of ingredients like pumpkin, sweet potato, spinach, and beetroot.
However, despite the different ingredients used for the multi-hued kueh, it didn't influence the broth's flavor. The broth, a milky concoction simmered from pork and chicken bones for more than 12 hours, provided a deeply comforting experience. It boasted a rich taste profile, subtly sweet and full of flavor. Alongside the noodles were a runny egg yolk, ikan bilis, veggies, and minced meat, making the entire dish thoroughly enjoyable. |
