REVIEW: Good Japanese Ramen in Singapore: Marutama Ramen at The Central @ Clarke Quay Singapore

Went for my dental appointment at NUH and then proceeded to change some YEN for my upcoming vacation!! Went to the central afterward for lunch before going to Raffles Place to run some errands. Some warm up in Singapore by eating some Ramen before eating the authentic one in Japan. YES! I have had Marutama Ramen before but decided to try this again. :)

Their ramen broth is chicken-based. Not too heavily flavored nor thick. It's light and cloudy in texture and the soup is yummy! Not really a fan of the thin noodles but their noodles are homemade hakata-style ramen. I ordered the $12 set. It comes with a piece of charsiew. I had to pay extra to add the egg. In conclusion, Marutama ramen is not really fantastic and may be forgettable but if you're a fan of chicken broth-based ramen, this is the one for you.

It feels like everything is good in Japan but there are a lot of hit-and-misses here in Singapore. Some are good, some are not very good and those average ones are neither here nor there. Unfortunately, this store falls in that average one's category. :(
