RECIPE: PASTA WITH BREADCRUMBS

I don't think anyone would add breadcrumbs to pasta, right? Breadcrumbs is used to make a crisp and crunchy covering for fried foods. Breadcrumbs can be used as a delicious topping for pasta as a extra yummy texture on a pasta dish. Btw you can get breadcrumbs at any super market. It is usually at the Japanese section coz they always use this to make tempura. Recipe is adapted from nytimes.

PASTA WITH BREADCRUMBS

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • pepper
  • 1 ounce Spaghetti
  • parsley
  • parmesan
Cooking Directions
  1. Cook the Spaghetti in a pot for around 10 minutes to achieve al dente texture. Please read the instructions on the box/packaging of your pasta for specific timings.
  2. Meanwhile, combine 2 tablespoons of the olive oil and the garlic over medium-low heat in a medium saucepan or skillet. Cook, stirring often, until the garlic turns golden, about two minutes. Remove from the heat, and set aside.
  3. Add the bread crumbs to the pan. Turn the heat to medium, and cook, stirring, until the bread crumbs are crisp.
  4. Return the pan to medium heat, and add the remaining olive oil and the cooked garlic. Add whatever you want to put in (I used mushrooms and prawn dumplings) and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer, and simmer until it smell fragrant, 15 to 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Drain the cooked pasta, and toss with the tomato sauce. Sprinkle the bread crumbs and parsley on top, toss again briefly and serve, passing the Parmesan at the table.
