You want your pasta to be hearty and not too gelat. I don't like to use heavy cream when I make carbonara. 1 beaten egg is enough for 1 person. Happened to have a lot of ham. Serve this one-dish pasta immediately for the best flavor. This is definitely easy enough for every day.
SPAGHETTI WITH HAM & MUSHROOMS
Ingredients
- 2 CUPS HAM
- 1 CLOVE MINCED GARLIC
- 1 TABLESPOON BUTTER
- 1 POUND SPAGHETTI
- 1/2 CUP GRATED PARMESAN
- 1 BEATEN EGG
- ANY AMOUNT OF MUSHROOMS
- Melt butter in a large skillet and lightly saute the ham and garlic. Add mushroom after the ham is cooked and continue until mushroom is cooked.
- Cook the Spaghetti in a pot for around 10 minutes to achieve al dente texture. Please read the instructions on the box/packaging of your pasta for specific timings.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in cheese, half the eggs.
- Remove from heat and toss with salt and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle with more cheese before serving.
